Artist Statement

My work is about the everyday stories in the lives of children. I am amazed by their ability of children to imagine lives that are wildly different from their daily reality, their whimsical thoughts seem limitless. I create stories based on my own experiences as female with a learning disability, because the creativity in neurodivergence is not always told in stories. I stick to this so that way I know the experience is authentic and true. I enjoy telling these stories through the use of animal subjects, which creates a character that anyone can see themselves as.
